Claudia’s career began with completing her articles at PwC in the Financial Services, Insurance, and Investment Management division, where she gained invaluable exposure to the complexities of financial reporting for various sectors. She then transitioned to working as an IFRS Accounting Standards specialist at mid-tier audit firms, providing advisory services and compliance reviews for a wide range of clients, including listed entities and entities in the private and public sectors.

Her expertise spans multiple reporting standards, with particular interest in accounting for complex group structures and arrangements. In addition to advising clients on financial statement preparation and regulatory compliance, Claudia also specialises in implementing updates, amendments, and new financial reporting standards. Furthermore, her practical experience extends to delivering engaging training to clients and audit firms, ensuring that teams stay current with regulatory changes and enhance their technical skills.

In the early years of FinRep Consulting, Claudia contributed to the JSE Proactive Monitoring Panel, reviewing the financial statements of JSE-listed companies to ensure compliance with IFRS Accounting Standards and other relevant regulations. Her extensive experience and expertise led to her subsequent accreditation as an IFRS advisor by the JSE, a role she held until the JSE discontinued the accreditation model.

Claudia’s qualifications demonstrate her commitment to continuous professional development and her dedication to providing exceptional service to her clients. She holds several prestigious qualifications and credentials, including being a Chartered Accountant (SAICA) and an Associate Chartered Accountant (ICAEW). Furthermore, she holds a Master of Commerce in International Accounting (Cum Laude) and has earned both her Honours and Bachelor's in Accounting Science (Cum Laude). She is also a recognised FSA Credential Holder.

Claudia holds the Fundamentals in Sustainability Accounting (FSA) Credential from the IFRS Foundation. This credential has equipped her with specialised knowledge in integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors into financial reporting. The FSA credential enhances Claudia’s ability to assist businesses in navigating the evolving landscape of sustainability accounting, ensuring they can disclose ESG information in alignment with global standards. This expertise is vital for helping businesses manage and report on sustainability-related risks and opportunities, adding significant value to her clients.

Claudia is committed to staying at the forefront of financial reporting, finance, and sustainability accounting. She is currently pursuing the CFA charterholder designation, with plans to sit for the CFA Level 2 exam.
